Chinese Opera from Taiwan: A Retrospective of the Ya-Yin Ensemble

The Department of Asian Languages & Cultures is proud to join the Bricks Foundation in co-sponsoring a rare West Coast appearance by legendary Chinese opera performer, Ms. Kuo Shaio-Chuang. Regarded as a national treasure in Taiwan, Ms. Kuo is a figure who has revolutionized Peking Opera in the modern era. Ms. Kuo will speak about her career in the performing arts in Taiwan; the event will also feature a demonstration of Peking Opera costumes. Please note: This event will be conducted in Mandarin Chinese (there will not be English interpretation).
